Are you a West Virginian graduating high school senior or graduate who will be attending in an in-state public college or university? If so, you may be eligible for the West Virginia Promise Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship awards up to $5,200 to multiple such students who have also received a minimum 3.0 GPA and a composite ACT score of 21/SAT score of 1080 or higher. In order to apply, interested students must simply submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1st. If you are selected for the grant, bear in mind that it may be renewed until your course of study is completed, but may not exceed an additional three academic years beyond the initial award. CollegeforWV.com is a scholarship and grant program hub created by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and the West Virginia Community and Technical College System. The Commission develops and oversees a public policy agenda for West Virginia’s four-year colleges and universities and is comprised of a 10-member board, working with institutions on accomplishing their missions and carrying out state procedures. The West Virginia Community and Technical College System, on the other hand, coordinates community and technical colleges statewide – partnering with businesses to meet workforce needs and ensuring a meaningful education for West Virginia students.
