The Walter G. Harrison Scholarship – Central Georgia EMC is open to current and incoming postsecondary students in Georgia who live in a primary residence serviced by Central Georgia EMC. The scholarship, named for one of Georgia’s true electric pioneers and state leaders, was created in 1985 to award students who excel in the areas of GPA, SAT scores, academic standing, scholastic honors, and demonstrate financial need. The award pays tribute to the late Walter Harrison, a pioneer in the rural electrification movement and a leader at the local, state, and national levels in the electric cooperative program.
