The VASWCD Educational Foundation Inc. Scholarship Awards Program is a fantastic opportunity for Virginia residents who are high school seniors or college freshmen passionate about natural resource conservation and environmental protection. This program provides financial support to students who are currently or planning to major in a course curriculum related to these fields. To be eligible, applicants must have a class ranking in the top 20% of their graduating class or a 3.0 or greater GPA. If you’re interested in applying, contact your local SWCD or the Association office for an application specific to your Soil & Water Conservation District. The VASWCD (Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts) Educational Foundation is nonprofit and classified as a 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1990. The mission of the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts and its Foundation is to provide and promote leadership in the conservation of natural resources through stewardship and education programs. The VASWCD and its Foundation coordinates conservation efforts statewide to focus effectively on issues identified by local member districts.
