Are you a high school senior graduating from a public high school in one of the Florida Parishes (East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Livingston, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington or West Feliciana)? If so, you may be eligible for the Twiley, Marie, and Bringer Barker Scholarship! The award is a one-time award ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 to college-bound students from Florida Parishes who have been accepted into an accredited college or university as a full-time student and have a minimum 2.7 GPA. To apply, interested students must submit a general application questionnaire, recent academic transcript, an ACT/SAT score report, an academic resume, three letters of recommendation, and an essay highlighting their leadership potential as displayed in extracurricular activities, community service, and other achievements or honors. The Baton Rouge Area Foundation's mission is to make South Louisiana and the world a little better each day. They expand philanthropy, connecting people who give with the causes they care about most, and partner on projects for civic good. Such projects include downtown development, The Water Campus, improving mental health services, and building a health district in Baton Rouge.
