The Tri-County EMC $250 Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors who (1) are a member or child of a Tri-County Electric member, (2) live in a home served by Tri-County Electric, or (3) attend high school in Tri-County Electric’s North Carolina service territory (Charles B. Aycock, Eastern Wayne, Wayne School of Engineering, Wayne Early College, Rosewood, Southern Wayne, Spring Creek, East Duplin, Duplin Early College, James Kenan, North Duplin, North Lenoir, or South Lenoir). If you’re a high school senior who will be attending a junior college, community college, vocational, or technical college, and meet one of the above criteria, we encourage you to apply! Tri-County EMC is a not-for-profit rural electric utility cooperative. They were chartered on May 8th, 1940, by way of the Rural Electrification Act and have since been an affiliate of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. They are one of 26 electric cooperatives in North Carolina and over 1,000 cooperatives nationwide. Their primary purpose is to provide safe, efficient electric energy to our members of Wayne, Duplin, Lenoir, Johnston, Jones, Sampson and Wilson counties.
