Are you an undergraduate student at a college, university, or vocational/technical certification program within North Dakota? Further, are you the child or grandchild of a current North Dakota county employee or county official? If both apply, consider applying for The North Dakota Association of Counties/ILG Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship awards $2,000 each to multiple college students in North Dakota who descend from ND county employees and county officials. To apply, interested students must submit (1) a personal statement about their academic goals and expectations, and (2) an essay that answers the question “How has your parent’s/grandparent’s experience in county government helped shape who you are?” If you have a parent or grandparent who has served as a North Dakota county official or employee, and you’re currently attending university within the state, we encourage you to apply! The North Dakota Association of Counties, since its creation in 1973, has been representing the needs of county government in legislative matters and acting as a liaison between counties. A number of programs designed to benefit counties are administered by NDACo. Working closely with Congress and the National Association of Counties, NDACo also alerts county officials to national developments that impact county government.
