Offered by Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation
The Tennessee Student Assistance Award Program (TSAA) was established to provide non-repayable financial assistance to financially-needy undergraduate students. Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment, at least half-time, at a public or an eligible non-public postsecondary institution in Tennessee. Because available funding is insufficient to reach all eligible applicants, early filing of the FAFSA is strongly encouraged. While applicants should aim to submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1st, the deadline is February 1st. Awards will be made until funds are depleted, and first priority will be given to U.S. citizens. If you’re a Tennessee resident seeking help to pay for your post-secondary education, we encourage you to apply!
The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) was created by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1974 as a non-profit corporation with the merging of the Tennessee Educational Loan Corporation and the Tennessee Tuition Grant Program. It administers over 20 different state student financial aid programs, including the HOPE scholarship, Tennessee Promise, Tennessee Reconnect, Tennessee Student Assistance Award, and the Dual Enrollment grant. To increase awareness and participation in the financial aid programs, the agency conducts financial aid outreach and training to students and staff at every high school and postsecondary institution in the state.
