Are you a member of AAJA (Asian American Journalists Association) planning to major in sports journalism? If so, consider applying for the Sports Task Force / Al Young Sports Journalism Scholarship! The scholarship is open to AAJA members who are full-time undergraduate students taking or planning to take courses in journalism and/or pursue a career in sports journalism.
The Asian American Journalists Association is proud to offer this and other scholarships to support students pursuing careers in sports journalism and media. The AAJA is a membership-based nonprofit organization focused on advancing diversity and accurate coverage of communities of color. The scholarship is named in honor of Al Young, an Asian American pioneer in sports media. To carry on his legacy, one aspiring, Asian sports journalist is chosen every year to receive $2,000 to help cover educational costs. If you’re an AAJA member passionate about pursuing a career in sports journalism, we encourage you to apply!
