The SME Education Foundation Family Scholarship is an impressive award given annually to students pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering or a related field. Four lucky recipients will be chosen, with one receiving a $40,000 scholarship and the others receiving $20,000 each, all payable over four years. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the US or Canada and have a parent or grandparent who has been an SME member for the past two years. High school seniors and undergraduates with up to 30 credit hours completed are welcome to apply, as long as they demonstrate academic excellence and a passion for manufacturing engineering.
As the philanthropic arm of SME, an internationally recognized nonprofit organization serving the manufacturing industry, the SME Education Foundation inspires, prepares and supports the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent. The Foundation also awards millions of dollars in scholarships every year to graduating high school seniors and both undergraduate and graduate students.
