Scholarship Review Process

The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

* There are certain exceptions to this, for example if the sponsoring organization is a major corporation or nonprofit with its own scholarship application system.

Scholarship Overview

The San Diego Chinese Women’s Association Scholarships are awarded to selected outstanding students of Chinese descent who are attending high school in San Diego County. Applicants must be of at least one-quarter Chinese descent, be a graduating high school senior attending a San Diego county school, and be either planning to attend a four-year university, two-year community college, or a vocational school. While applicants looking to attend four-years are eligible to win up to $1,500, those looking to attend community college and vocational programs can win up to $1,000 for their education. About San Diego Chinese Women's Association

The San Diego Chinese Women’s Association was originally founded in 1981 as the San Diego Chinese Women’s Club, a non-profit organization. At that time 10 women brainstormed the idea of putting together an organization to help what is now the San Diego Chinese Center. Thirty women showed up for their first meeting, which was a tea at one of the original founder’s home. Today, their membership numbers at over 100.
