Scholarship Overview

The Rosewood Family Scholarship Program annually provides financial assistance to a maximum of 50 students who (1) prove they are direct descendants of Rosewood families affected by the historical incidents of January 1923 and (2) are attending a public Florida college or university. Funds for the Rosewood Family Scholarship are contingent each year upon the appropriations made available to the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) by the Florida Legislature. For the current academic year, applicants may earn up to $6,100 each.

The Florida Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) serves as a guarantor for the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) and the administrator of Florida's scholarship and grant programs. The OSFA mission is to facilitate higher education access and services by providing exemplary customer attention, comprehensive financial aid information, and convenient and efficient products.
