Are you an LGBTQIA+, nonbinary, or a straight or cisgender ally residing in Virginia and currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in an institution of higher education? If so, consider applying for the Rise Up Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship awards up to $1,000 to multiple LGBTQIA+ students and their allies who submit an essay or video explaining their role in the LGBTQIA+ community and how this scholarship would benefit their education. The primary recipient will receive scholarship disbursement semiannually with current funding of up to $1,000 per year. Continued eligibility will be evaluated on a semiannual basis. Maximum duration of the award will be for a period of 4 years (8 disbursements), contingent on funding. Additional recipients may also be provided with one time awards, dependent on funding.
