Scholarship Overview

Are you a Rhode Island resident who has graduated high school or received a GED in the most recent school year and will be enrolling at a CCRI (Community College of Rhode Island) campus in the semester immediately following graduation or receiving a GED? If so, you may be eligible for the Rhode Island Promise! Each year, the scholarship covers the costs of tuition for incoming CCRI students who are from Rhode Island and under the age of 19. Recipients can continue to receive the scholarship for the entirety of their time at a CCRI so long as they maintain full-time enrollment, a minimum 2.5 GPA, and earn at least 30 credits per school year. If you’re a Rhode Islander fresh out of high school who is planning to pursue an associate degree at a CCRI without worrying about tuition fees, we encourage you to apply. The Community College of Rhode Island is the state’s only public comprehensive associate degree-granting institution. They provide affordable open access to higher education at locations throughout the state. The College provides a variety of academic, career, and technical at four main campuses in Warwick, Lincoln, Providence and Newport. Courses are also offered at satellite campuses in Westerly and Woonsocket.
