RARE Scholars annually awards $5,000 and $2,500, respectively, to students in four-year undergraduate or graduate studies programs and to students in two-year or vocational-technical studies who have been diagnosed with mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS), phenylketonuria (PKU), Batten disease or achondroplasia. High school seniors who will be entering college in the upcoming school year are also eligible. All applicants must also be U.S. or ex-U.S. residents enrolled in U.S.-based schools, including U.S. territories, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. To apply, interested students must provide a doctor’s statement with the diagnosis that must be faxed or emailed directly from their physician.
