Are you a current or incoming post-secondary student who has “experienced the devastating loss of a parent, caregiver, or sibling to suicide”? If so, we are terribly sorry for your loss. Further, if you need help affording college expenses, we recommend checking out the Quell Foundation Survivor Scholarship. Each year, the scholarship awards between $2,500 and $5,000 to multiple applicants who have lost a beloved family member or caregiver to suicide, hold a minimum 3.5 GPA, and submit ~500-word personal statements about why they’re pursuing a degree. The Quell Foundation is an organization that works to reduce the number of suicides, overdoses, and the incarceration of people with mental illnesses by encouraging people to share their stories, increasing access to mental health services, and supporting scholarships.
