Scholarship Overview

Are you a 5th – 12th grader who believes in the importance of remembering the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995? If so, consider applying for the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum’s Annual Student Essay Contest. Each year, the scholarship awards $50 – $100, $75 – $150, $150 – $500, and $500 – $1,000, respectively, to the top 3 applicants in 5th & 6th grade, 7th & 8th grade, 9th & 10th grade, and 11th & 12th grade. To apply, interested students must watch a video made by the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, then write an essay in response to the prompt. As the prompt may change each year and varies by grade level, we recommend checking out the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum website before applying. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum was established to remember those who were killed, those who survived, and those whose lives were changed forever after experiencing the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. The Memorial & Museum hopes that all who visit learn the impact of violence. They hope to offer comfort, strength, peace, hope and serenity.
