    • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
    • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
    • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
    • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
    • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
    • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
    • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
    • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months

    Scholarship Overview

    Are you an undergraduate or graduate student in New York State planning to remain in the state to become a grade 7-12 math or science teacher? If so, the NYS Math & Science Teaching Incentive Program may be a great opportunity for you! Select applicants receive an annual award payment for full-time study equal to the annual tuition charged to an undergraduate NYS resident attending a State University of New York (SUNY) campus, or actual tuition charged, whichever is less. In return for these payments, recipients must agree to work as full-time, secondary education math or science teachers in New York State for five years.

    If you would like to become a secondary education math or science teacher and want to attend college in New York for little to no cost, we encourage you to apply for the NYS Math & Science Teaching Incentive Program!

    In addition to meeting the below eligibility criteria, applicants must be willing to teach full-time for five years, regardless of the number or amount of award payments received, in the field of math or science at a secondary school (grades 7-12) located in New York State.
