Are you an osteopathic medical student who is in the second, third, or fourth year of your medical program and has a commitment to practicing medicine in the Northwest? If so, consider applying for the Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship awards at least $10,000 each to multiple osteopathic medical students who can demonstrate a commitment to practicing medicine in the Northwest, an understanding of osteopathic principles and practices, and previous volunteer leadership. While applicants do not need to be from the Pacific Northwest themselves, select scholarships will be reserved for applicants from Alaska, Montana, and Washington who are dedicated to returning to their home states, as well as a scholarship for a female student from Oregon who is attending the WesternU Oregon Campus College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific – Northwest in Lebanon, OR. The Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation, since its inception, has had the overriding purpose to Advocate for the Principles of Osteopathic Medicine. To do so, they (1) provide and support Public Awareness Initiatives that will benefit from the Osteopathic Approach to Medicine and (2) serve Physicians through education that teaches and reinforces the Principles of Osteopathic Medicine.
In addition to meeting the below eligibility critieria, applicants should demonstrate a commitment to practicing medicine in the Northwest.
