Are you a female high school senior from Nebraska planning to study English at university? If so, consider applying for the Norma Ross Walter Scholarship! The scholarship is open to female high school seniors who plan to enroll in accredited universities as English majors and are from Nebraska. The scholarship is funded by the Willa Cather Foundation, a non-profit organization formed in 1955. The foundation vows to continue Cather’s legacy and support the next generation of writers. Since 1987, this scholarship in particular has honored Norma Ross Walter, who served as a Navy Wave during the Second World War and as a career newspaper editor in California. Each year, three scholarships worth up to $3,000 are awarded to eligible applicants with a passion for the written word.
