Offered by New Jersey Hall of Fame
Areté, a concept discussed by Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle more than 3,000 years ago, refers to “actualizing one’s highest sense of self with a moral excellence of character.” The term means that each individual should strive to pursue their passions in life and realize their dreams regardless of their circumstances or the adversities that they may face on their path to greatness. To honor students who embody “Arete”, the New Jersey Hall of Fame is offering a $5,000 scholarship!
To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be high school seniors graduating from a New Jersey High School. To be considered for the scholarship, interested students must submit a completed application including their transcripts, a letter of recommendation, and a few short essays. If you’re a Garden State resident who believes they embody the meaning of Arete, we encourage you to apply! Keep on reading to learn more.
