Offered by Nisei Student Relocation Commemorative Fund
The Nisei Student Relocation Commemorative Fund (NSRCF) is seeking bright and ambitious applicants who hail from Southeast Asian backgrounds (Khmer, Hmong, Lao, or Vietnamese). If you’re a college-bound high school senior and graduating this academic year, you’re eligible to apply! Bear in mind that the NSRCF is a unique program traveling to different parts of the United States each year. In 2024 and 2025, the scholarships were awarded in Wisconsin and then to the Greater Sacramento Area, respectively. To find out what area the scholarships are being awarded in for the current year, be sure to check out the NSRCF website before beginning your application. Applicants must also be planning on beginning their post-secondary education in the Fall following their high school graduation to qualify.

The Nisei Student Relocation Commemorative Fund was established by second generation Japanese Americans (Nisei) to honor the National Japanese American Student Relocation Council who helped 5,000 Nisei leave America's concentration camps to complete their college educations. The Fund promotes 1) inter-ethnic collaboration and 2) awareness about the forced removal and internment of 120,000 persons of Japanese ancestry during WWII.
This scholarship is open to students who meet the eligibility criteria below:

Asian/Pacific Islander
Low Income
U.S. Citizens
Applicants must be of Southeast Asian (Cambodian, Hmong, Lao, or Vietnamese) ancestry.
