Are you an Indiana resident looking to pursue a career in education? If so, you’re in luck! Each year, the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship helps fund the post-secondary education of many aspiring teachers from Indiana.
To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be Indiana residents currently enrolled in their last year of high school or in an undergraduate program. Applicants must also attend or plan to attend an in-state university and meet at least one of the following criteria: (a) rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class, (b) have a top 20% ACT or SAT score, or (c) have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Bear in mind that applicants must also be willing to teach at an Indiana school after graduation. In return for receiving the $10,000, renewable scholarship, recipients are expected to to teach for five years at an eligible Indiana school or repay the corresponding, prorated amount of the scholarship.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is a 14-member public body created in 1971 to define the missions of Indiana's colleges and universities, plan and coordinate the state's postsecondary education system, and ensure that Indiana's higher education system is aligned to meet the needs of students and the state.
In addition to meeting the below eligibility criteria, applicants must be willing to agree to teach for five years at an eligible Indiana school. They must also rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class, have a top 20% ACT or SAT score, OR have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least a 3.0.
