The New England Amateur Radio Festival (NEAR-Fest) Memorial Scholarship is open to students holding an amateur radio license for a minimum of one year prior to application. The scholarship gives preference to students with an “Extra Class” license, secondary preference to those with a “General Class” license, and tertiary Preference to those with a “Technician Class” license. Applicants must also reside in the ARRL New England Division (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts), and be pursuing any undergraduate degree or a two-year technical degree in radio communications at any accredited institution.
