Are you a current or incoming undergraduate student who (1) is or will be attending an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) and (2) will be majoring in education OR will be a member of your university’s band? If so, the Myra L Austin Taylor Memorial Scholarship may be an amazing opportunity for you! Each year, the scholarship awards $500 to two (2) such students who submit the best 500+ word essays answering the year’s given prompt. Applicants must also hold a minimum 3.0 GPA and have at least 90 hours of community service accumulated. This scholarship was established in honor of Myra L. Austin Taylor, a passionate educator of 30+ years, clarinet player, and beloved wife and mother.
