Are you a union member, or the dependent of a union member whose local union is affiliated with the Minnesota AFL-CIO? If so, you’re in luck! Minnesota AFL-CIO may have the perfect scholarship opportunity for you.
Each year, their scholarships (including the David K. Roe Scholarship, Hubert H. Humphrey Memorial Award, and the Donald Pilla Memorial Award) collectively award $1,000 to five (5) impressive applicants. In addition to being a union member (or the dependent of one whose union is affiliated with Minnesota AFL-CIO), individuals must be high school seniors to qualify. They must also have a straight “B” average (2.0 in a 3.0 grade point system/3.0 in a 4.0 grade point system) and plan to attend a post-secondary institution in the state of Minnesota.
