The Michigan Retailers Association Scholarship is open to high school seniors, as well as college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, who are employees of MRA (Michigan Retailers Association) or relatives of members of MRA. Part-time employees of MRA member businesses must have been employed there for at least six months before applying, and the MRA-employed relatives (parents) of applicants must have worked there for at least one year before application. If you’re a post-secondary student who has either been employed by an MRA member business themselves or has a parent who was employed by an MRA member business, we encourage you to apply! The Michigan Retailers Foundation, established in 1968, provides college scholarships annually to benefit retailers and their employees and families. The foundation is a nonprofit educational organization established by MRA. The philosophy of the Michigan Retailers Association Scholarship Program differs from traditional scholarship programs that reward only the highest level of academic achievement. MRA scholarships will be awarded to deserving students whose academic credentials fall within an average to above-average range.
In addition to meeting the eligibility criteria below, applicants or their parents must have been employed by an MRA member business.
