The Mercer Scholarship is open to Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard personnel, or their spouses and dependent biological, step, or adoptive children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. Alternatively, students may be eligible if they are FRA members in good standing or the spouse, child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of an FRA member.
Each year, up to $5,000 will be awarded to students pursuing trade school, community or four-year college, or graduate school. Recipients for the scholarship will be chosen based on financial need, academic standing, character, and leadership qualities. The scholarship accepts applications from September 1st to April 15th of each year. If you’re a veteran or an FRA member, or a descendant or spouse of either, we encourage you to apply! FRA is first and foremost a community of the Sea Services; U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard personnel. FRA provides more than $100,000 in undergraduate and graduate scholarships annually to members and their families.
