The Maryland State Delegate Scholarship is offered to Maryland residents who plan to pursue a postsecondary credential full-time (12+ credits undergraduate or 9+ credits graduate per semester) or part-time (6-11 credits undergraduate or 6-8 credits graduate per semester) at a two-year or four-year Maryland college, university or private career school. To be considered for the scholarship, interested students should contact their local delegates for instructions on how to apply. In addition, they must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1st. Students who are not eligible for the FAFSA must complete the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA) instead.
Maryland residents whose majors are not available at any Maryland institution may apply through the Unique Major Application. However, bear in mind that this has a different deadline and application process than that listed above.

The Maryland Higher Education Commission is the State of Maryland's higher education coordinating board responsible for establishing statewide policies for Maryland public and private colleges and universities and for-profit career schools. MHEC also administers state financial aid programs that affect students on a statewide basis.
