Are you the child, grandchild, or spouse of a current member of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers or are related to a deceased member who was in good standing at the time of his or her death? Further, are you pursuing a Bachelor of Science in engineering or a related field at an Ohio college or university? If so, you may be eligible for the Lloyd A. Chacey, PE-Ohio Society of Professional Engineers Memorial Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship awards $2,000 to one engineering student at an Ohio University who will achieve junior status by the end of the current academic year and is related to a member of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers. This scholarship was established by the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers in 1977 as a lasting tribute to a longtime executive secretary, Lloyd A. The Engineers Foundation of Ohio (EFO) was founded by members of OSPE in 1964. Today, EFO is a thriving nonprofit organization that has programs serving all age groups, from Imagine Engineering Coloring Contest for second graders to MATHCOUNTS for middle schoolers to scholarships for high school and college-aged students. EFO leads Ohio in promoting continuing professional development for PEs with numerous programs across the state.
