The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months

Scholarship Overview

The Little People of America Scholarship Program is funded by Little People of America (LPA), an organization that is dedicated “to improving the quality of life for people with dwarfism throughout their lives while celebrating with great pride Little People’s contribution to social diversity.” Every year, the Little People of America Scholarship Program awards between $250 and $1,000 to two undergraduates and one graduate student who either (a) have dwarfism or (b) are the immediate relatives of LPA members with dwarfism and are currently or will soon be attending a postsecondary institution. Bear in mind that scholarships will be given in order of preference to (1) members of LPA who have a medically diagnosed form of dwarfism, (2) immediate family members of those with dwarfism who are also paid members of LPA, and (3) individuals with dwarfism who are not members of LPA.
