Are you a rising college sophomore or junior who is pursuing a career in radio, television, or digital journalism? If so, the Lee Thornton Scholarship may be a great opportunity for you! Each year, the scholarship awards $2,000 to one (1) full-time sophomore or above in good standing who will be continuing their undergraduate education in the upcoming Fall semester. In addition to the monetary reward, recipients will receive an invitation to the RTDNA conference. This scholarship was established in honor of Lee Thornton, the first African-American woman to cover the White House for a major news network (CBS) and the first African-American host of All Things Considered on National Public Radio.
