The Lawrence Alan Spiegel Remembrance Scholarship is awarded annually to one high school senior (including homeschoolers) who authors the best essay on the question: “Learning about the Holocaust affected my view of the world and it is important for others to learn about it too.” Applicants must reside in Maine and have been accepted at any accredited Title IV-eligible college or technical school. Impress the judges with your essay, not exceeding four typed pages, and potentially earn funding for your college education!
The Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine promotes universal respect for human rights through outreach and education. Using the lessons of the Holocaust and other events past and present, they encourage individuals and communities to reflect and act upon their moral responsibilities to confront prejudice, intolerance and discrimination.
