The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

Scholarship Overview

Are you a Spanish or Portuguese student wanting to pursue a master’s, doctorate, or other postgraduate degree abroad? If so, consider applying for the La Caixa Foundation Postgraduate Fellowships! The fellowships are open to students of Spanish or Portuguese nationality who wish to pursue graduate or postgraduate study in North America, Europe, or the Asia-Pacific region. They are funded by the La Caixa Foundation, a not-for-profit banking foundation based in Catalonia. They aim to “build a better and fairer society, providing more opportunities to those who most need them.” Thus, the La Caixa Foundation grants 80 fellowships every year, believing that supporting motivated students is a key to developing society. The fellowship covers university tuition fees, monthly allowance, travel expenses, health insurance, and more. If you are a student of Spanish or Portuguese nationality looking to fund your graduate degree program abroad, we encourage you to apply!

The scholarship is open to students of Spanish or Portuguese nationality pursuing a master's, doctorate, or postgraduate study in North America, Europe, or the Asia-Pacific region. Applicants must also already have a bachelor's degree from their home country and meet the below eligibility requirements.

To apply for this scholarship, students must submit an online application, proof of language proficiency for the university/country they wish to study in, and the below application materials. Applicants studying music or other artistic fields must also submit samples of their work.
