Offered by California Teachers Association (CTA)
The L. Gordon Bittle Memorial Scholarship awards scholarships worth up to $5,000 to a maximum of three (3) recipients. One of these scholarships is designated as the Pacific Asian American Scholarship in Honor of Philip Vera Cruz and is awarded to the highest-scoring applicant. Applicants must be an active member of Student CTA (SCTA) and be pursuing a career in public education. Applicants’ high school grade point average should reflect a high unweighted average, and their college coursework should reflect high academic achievement. Applicants should also explain any unique circumstances related to medical, physical or emotional difficulties that may have affected their grades. Additional requirements include 2 letters of recommendation and applicant’s statement with word count.
