Each year, the Kenneth L. Proulx Memorial Essay Contest for Freethinking Ongoing College Students grants between $200 and $3,500 to current college students (up to age 24) who submit the most intriguing or compelling essay in response to the year’s prompt. The prompts are typically related to the separation of church and state, religion, and/or its effects on how people dictate their lives. However, as the prompt changes every year, we recommend checking the year’s prompt before starting your essay.
