Are you a Jewish middle or high school student who would like to demonstrate your passion for Judaism and philanthropy through writing? Consider applying for the Kaplun Essay Contest! Open to Jewish students who submit an essay about Jewish values and/or the benefits of philanthropy, the scholarship awards $1,800 to two lucky students. Ten runners-up are awarded $500 each, and the first 100 students to submit an essay win a $18 entrance prize. This scholarship is sponsored by the Morris J. and Betty Kaplun Foundation, a foundation in honor of the Kapluns who were refugees from Nazi persecution and dedicated their lives to a variety of philanthropic causes.
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a student in grades 7 - 12 and meet the additional eligibility requirements below.
