Are you a college-bound, Kansas high school graduate who completed the Kansas Scholars Curriculum and was designated as a Kansas State Scholar by the Kansas Board of Regents? If so, you may be eligible for the Kansas State Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship awards up to $1,000 annually to multiple academically excellent Kansas high school graduates who demonstrate financial need. To be eligible, applicants must (1) take the ACT Assessment by December of their senior year, (2) complete the Kansas Scholars Curriculum (KSC) in high school, and (3) be designated as a Kansas State Scholar by the Kansas Board of Regents. In addition, they must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester and have maintained a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the state’s six universities and the statewide coordinating board for the state’s 32 public higher education institutions (six state universities, one municipal university, nineteen community colleges, and six technical colleges). The Board administers the state’s student financial aid, adult education, high school equivalency, and career and technical education programs. Private proprietary schools and out-of-state institutions are authorized by the Kansas Board of Regents to operate in Kansas.
