The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements

Scholarship Overview

Are you an ambitious, college-bound high school senior from Washoe, Douglas, Carson City, Storey, Lyon, or Churchill County in Nevada, or at South Lake Tahoe High School? If so, you may be eligible for the John R. Stockman Scholarship! Each year, the scholarship is awarded to multiple eligible Nevada applicants who have also received a minimum 3.2 GPA and a minimum 1200 SAT or a minimum 22 ACT. To apply, interested students must submit a 1-2 page essay detailing their aspirations for college and beyond, and describing how they will support themselves through 4 years of college. This scholarship was named after John R. Stockman, a selfless leader who, through a commitment to hard work, creativity, honesty, and kindness, became a recognized leader in the commercial real estate industry. About Community Foundation of Northern Nevada

The Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, established in 1998, is a nonprofit that has distributed more than $169 million in grants and scholarships from over 250 charitable funds to strengthen their home state. The Community Foundation serves as a community leader, a permanent charitable resource, and a philanthropic advisor in charitable giving. Their core work on behalf of their donors and the communities of Northern Nevada is philanthropic advising, grantmaking, charitable asset investment management, leadership, and community engagement.
