Offered by General Commission on Archives and History, The United Methodist Church (GCAH)
The John Harrison Ness Memorial Award annually awards $500 and $250, respectively, to the two Master of Divinity Program students who submit the best essay on some aspect of United Methodist history. To be eligible, applicants’ M. Div. program (or its equivalent) must be in United Methodist or another seminary accredited by the Association of Theological Schools. The award is given in memory of John Harrison Ness, a pastor, conference superintendent, and denominational executive in the Evangelical United Brethren Church.
