Are you a student from Western Pennsylvania who plans to major in journalism, English writing, or communications? If so, consider applying for the Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship! The Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students from Western Pennsylvania planning to pursue a major in journalism, English writing, or communications.
The Jim Borden Memorial is funded by Trib Total Media, the “single source solution for all advertising needs delivering news, information and advertising to portions of Allegheny, Westmoreland, Armstrong and Butler counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania.” The scholarship is in honor of Jim Borden, the late Trib Total Media managing editor who inspired the next generation of journalists to pursue their work with the same unfailing passion and integrity that he displayed each day. To carry on Jim’s legacy, the scholarship awards up to $30,000 ($7,500/year), a summer internship at Trib Total Media, and an offer for full-time employment (upon graduation) to one (1) lucky journalism, English writing, or communications student. If you’re passionate about journalism and are looking for some help to pay off your degree, we encourage you to apply!
