The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust seeks current and incoming undergraduate students who have completed at least 30 loops annually as golf caddies or who have worked 150+ hours this season as golf operations staff. Each year, they award $1,000 – $10,000 and $1,000 – $5,000, respectively, to multiple selected Caddie applicants and Golf Operations applicants. The application window opens on July 1st and closes on December 31st of each year.

The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust was created in 1958 by the Golf Association of Philadelphia through the efforts of then President Walter A. Schmidt; Leo Fraser, President of the local section of Professional Golfers' Association of America; and Albert Keeping, Golf Professional at Gulph Mills Golf Club. It was named in honor of Philadelphia's premier golfer of the era, J. Wood Platt. Not only was Mr. Platt an accomplished player, but he was also the Scholarship's co-founder and first contributor.
This scholarship is open to students meeting the below eligibility criteria.

Applicants must be (a) golf caddies who have completed at least 30 loops annually or (b) golf operations staff who have worked 150+ hours this season.
In addition to the below application materials, interested students must submit a headshot of themselves and their parents' Tax Returns for the last 2 years.
