Are you a current or prospective graduate student interested in becoming an art museum educator or curator? If so, consider applying for the Interpretive Fellowships at Art Museums! The fellowship is open to individuals with a degree in an art-related major who are currently pursuing or contemplating graduate study or professional placement in an art-related field. Applicants should also show interest in interpretive careers in art museums.
The program is offered by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, an organization devoted to advancing the study, conservation, and enjoyment of European art, architecture, and archaeology from antiquity to the early 19th century. The goal of the fellowships is to strengthen the museum educator profession within the art museum community and expand the range of promising career options available to students. The fellowship awards $30,000 for a 9-to-12-month professional development opportunity. Eligibility information
The scholarship is open to individuals who have received a degree in art history, art education, studio art or museum studies and who are pursuing graduate study or professional placement in these or related fields. Applicants must also meet the below eligibility requirements.
