The International Research Scientist Development Award (IRSDA) provides financial support to advanced postdoctoral U.S. research scientists and recently appointed U.S. junior faculty for an intensive, mentored 3-5-year-long research career development experience in an eligible LMIC (low or middle-income country). Applicants must also be at least two years beyond the conferral of their doctoral degree and have both U.S. and LMIC primary mentors. To apply, interested students should demonstrate that they are committed to an independent research career in global health, and justify the need for three to five years of mentored research experience in order to become an independent research scientist.
