Alternatively, are you a current or incoming college student from Maryland with a hearing impairment who will be attending an out-of-state college or university? If either applies, the Howard P. Rawlings Educational Assistance Grant may be a good opportunity for you! Each year, this need-based grant awards up to $3,000 to Maryland residents who are planning to attend an in-state college or those with a hearing impairment planning to attend an out-of-state college. To apply, submit either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA) by June 1. The Maryland Higher Education Commission is the State of Maryland's higher education coordinating board responsible for establishing statewide policies for Maryland public and private colleges and universities and for-profit career schools. MHEC also administers state financial aid programs that affect students on a statewide basis.
In addition to meeting the below eligibility criteria, applicants who are planning to attend an institution outside Maryland must have a hearing impairment.
