The HOPE Aspire Award is open to Tennesee high school graduates who will be attending an in-state postsecondary institution, in addition to meeting the other Tennesee HOPE Scholarship requirements. Applicants must also have indicated that their parents’ or independent student’s and spouse’s adjusted gross income is $36,000 or less on an IRS tax form. The Aspire Award is established and funded from the net proceeds of the state lottery and awarded to entering freshmen as a supplement to the HOPE Scholarship. Eligible students attending four-year institutions and two-year institutions may earn up to $750 and $250 per semester as a supplement to the HOPE Scholarship, respectively.
The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) was created by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1974 as a non-profit corporation with the merging of the Tennessee Educational Loan Corporation and the Tennessee Tuition Grant Program. TSAC administers over 20 different state student financial aid programs, in addition to conducting financial aid outreach and training to students and staff at every high school and postsecondary institution in the state.
