The Honda Excellence in Manufacturing Scholarship benefits students who are passionate about pursuing a career in advanced manufacturing. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning to attend one of the eligible Community Colleges. Part- or full-time undergraduate students currently enrolled in a certificate or degree program in manufacturing engineering/manufacturing technology or a closely related engineering discipline and attending one of the following Community Colleges in the state of Ohio are also eligible. The eligible colleges are Rhodes State College, Columbus State Community College (all campuses), Marion Technical College, Edison Community College (all campuses), Sinclair Community College (all campuses), and Clark State College (all campuses). Two reference letters are required and must be from a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) instructor.

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation is the philanthropic arm of SME, an internationally recognized nonprofit organization serving the manufacturing industry. The SME Education Foundation inspires, prepares and supports the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent. The Foundation also awards millions of dollars in scholarships every year to graduating high school seniors, as well as undergraduate and graduate students.
