The Helen Laughlin AM Mode Memorial Scholarship is open to students with a General Class or higher license. Preference is given to residents of Texas. However, if no qualified applicant from Texas is identified, preference will be given to residents of Arkansas. If no qualified applicant is identified from Arkansas, preference will be given to residents of the ARRL West Gulf (Texas, Oklahoma) or Delta (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee) Divisions. Preference is given to women Amateur Radio operators who are performing at a high academic level, and to those who have made a contact in the AM mode, but it is not required.
