Are you passionate about public service? If so, you should consider applying for the Harry S. Truman scholarship! This scholarship is open to college juniors who plan to attend graduate school in pursuit of a public service career. The scholarship is funded by the Truman Foundation, an organization dedicated to fostering the future of public service leadership in the U.S. Many scholarship recipients have gone on to serve in public office, as prosecutors and public defenders, as leaders of non-profit organizations, and as educators. The foundation awards roughly 60 scholarships per year. If you’re passionate about serving your community and you have a strong record of campus and community involvement, we encourage you to apply!
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must be pursuing a major likely to lead to a public service career, and demonstrate interest in any graduate degree other than the MBA. You must also meet the below eligibility requirements.
No GPA requirement
To apply for this scholarship, you must submit a nomination letter from your institution and fill out the online application. As part of the application, you must submit a 500-word policy proposal addressing a problem in the professional field you hope to enter. Be sure to also submit the following application materials before the deadline.
