The Frederick Douglass Scholarship (FDS) is a prestigious University of Maryland – College Park scholarship for academically talented transfer students from Maryland community colleges. To be eligible, applicants must be Maryland residents with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Additionally, applicants must have earned an associate’s degree from a Maryland community college or be in the process of completing 56 college credits, with the most recent 30 credits earned at a Maryland community college. If you’re a Maryland resident and current or former community college student who has or will transfer to the University of Maryland, College Park, we encourage you to apply.
