Offered by Daughters of the American Revolution
Are you a student over 25 years old studying to teach at an elementary school? If so, you might be interested in applying for the Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Elementary Teacher Scholarship! The scholarship is open to undergraduate sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students studying to teach at the elementary school level. A non-profit organization called the Daughters of the American Revolution offers this scholarship and others to promote the study of American history. The organization is known for its lineage-based membership and history and is dedicated to the “historical preservation, promotion of education, and encouragement of patriotic endeavor.” Their Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Elementary Teacher Scholarship awards up to $1,500 to one student each year to help offset tuition costs. If you are passionate about teaching at an elementary level and would like some help paying for your education, we encourage you to apply!

Eligibility information
The scholarship is open to a student who is 25 years or older attending or planning on attending an accredited college or university with the intention of teaching at the elementary school level. Applicants must also meet the below eligibility requirements.

Application information
To apply for this scholarship, students must submit an online application, proof of their U.S. citizenship, a list of their extra-curricular activities (honors received and scholastic achievements), and the below application materials.
